Palate Cleanser: Jon Bon Jovi Hired By Obama to Serve As White House Advisor

I'm stealing this from one of the commenters: "So, it appears that Obama is trying to get the 80s rocker vote in 2012.":

This may not be the year for Jon Bon Jovi to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but the rocker is the recipient of a different kind of honor. Megyn Kelly just reported that JBJ will serve on the White House Council for Community Solutions. The new 25-member group will reportedly provide advice on the best ways to mobilize citizens, non-profits, businesses and government to solve community needs.

In addition to having great hair, the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation has been actively working to combat homelessness for some time now.

Chyrsler Bondholders' Attorney: White House Threatened My Client

On Friday, bankruptcy attorney for some of the Chysler bondholders, Tom Lauria, went on Detroit’s Frank Beckman’s morning talk show (WJR) to make this eyepopping accusation about the White House's actions toward them. Somewhere, Nixon is smiling from the life beyond:

Lauria: Let me tell you it’s no fun standing on this side of the fence opposing the President of the United States. In fact, let me just say, people have asked me who I represent. That’s a moving target. I can tell you for sure that I represent one less investor today than I represented yesterday. One of my clients was directly threatened by the White House and in essence compelled to withdraw its opposition to the deal under the threat that the full force of the White House Press Corps would destroy its reputation if it continued to fight.

Let's roll the audio back on that:

One of my clients was directly threatened by the White House and in essence compelled to withdraw its opposition to the deal under the threat that the full force of the White House Press Corps would destroy its reputation if it continued to fight.

Using Robert Gibbs and company to pound a private citizen who opposes the Bully-in-Chief into submission isn't something that the President of the United States would do. Is it?

Apparently, it is.

After all, he publically went after Rush Limbaugh and Rick Santelli whenever they expressed his desire for America to not turn into a socialst state and questioned his policies, and he gave Major Garrett and the rest of the Fox News reporters the equivilant of the silent treatment because Fox didn't air his 100th day sermon...I mean press conference.

However, there is not any evidence of this other than Lauria's testimony. So, nothing will probably come of this, but after what happened to Limbaugh, Santelli, and Garrett, we must start wondering if there is a pattern developing here with the Obama administration.

Hello, My Name Is Hillary Clinton! "Feel Like Getting Nasty?"

White House Corrects Conference Call Number After Directing Reporters to Sex Line

In a press release, the White House accidentally listed a phone sex number for journalists seeking an "on-the-record briefing call with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and National Security Advisor Jim Jones to discuss the NATO summit."

FOXNews.com Thursday, April 02, 2009

Journalists seeking to talk a little foreign policy with high-profile Obama administration officials live from the G20 meetings in London this week were solicited for phone sex instead after ringing up the toll-free number given by the White House.

In a press release, the White House accidentally listed a sex line number for journalists seeking an "on-the-record briefing call with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and National Security Advisor Jim Jones to discuss the NATO summit."

But after dialing, a soft-voiced female recording that was clearly not Clinton asked for a credit card number if you "feel like getting nasty."

After several efforts to make sure that the phone number was correctly dialed, a call to the White House resulted in a corrected press release. "If you are having trouble dialing into the call, please try this number as an alternative," and listed the international line included for reporters abroad to dial.

By this time, the conference call was already under way.

Asked for comment about this mishap, Deputy White House Press Secretary Bill Burton responded: "A corrected phone number on a press release is probably one of the stupider things FOX News has covered lately."

My Thoughts

"A corrected phone number on a press release is probably one of the stupider things FOX News has covered lately."

How about giving the out the wrong phone number to a press conference, and that wrong number ends up being a sex chat line? Is that one of the stupidest things the White House press corps has ever done? They don't need to flip the script on Fox because they were embarrassed by their own incompetentcy and were caught doing something doltish.
